Dad, Stepmom Sandra and Teyiah

Pepsi, I have so many wonderful and fond memories of you over the years.  You grew from a quiet, sensitive child, to a brave and wonderful woman.  You developed a spunky personality that drew people to you.  You had a gift of making everybody feel comfortable and showed so much love to all that you came in contact with.  One of my most vivid memories of you is when you attended the Barbizon modeling school.  It was time for you to be in a fashion show, and you needed an outfit to wear that would reflect what you learned - doing your “catwalk.”  We went shopping together and came upon a sleek, black satin pants suit with gold satin trim.  We later found a shiny, gold blouse with matching shoes.  That outfit looked like it was made for you…and only, you.  During the fashion show, we all waited until it was time for your name to be announced.  And then, you came onto the stage with your make-up done perfectly and looking like you were a professional!  I still can see you, looking so smooth and polished – and, can hear the gasps from the audience when they laid their eyes upon you.  You stole the show!  But, you were never conceited and as you matured, actually became humble.  The word that I would use to describe you would be “courageous.”  You taught us all how to sustain faith and displayed more courage than most could ever dream to possess.  You did this without any complaints or bitterness, only showing perseverance and strength.  I miss our telephone conversations terribly.  I look over at Dad in church and still can’t get used to you not being by his side, smiling.  I am so thankful for having you to love and joyful that you are no longer suffering.  Cancer did take your life, sweet Pep, but never your soul.  Loving you always and missing you terriblySandra, Stepmom.

Pepsi – I miss our talks on the way to “Praise the Lord.”  We talked about breast cancer, the word of God and about inviting family members to come and worship with us.  When we see you again, we will rejoice, for after you planted the seed, they came!  I love and miss you – Love, Dad.

Dear Auntie Pepsi, I miss you so much!  You are the best!  I remember when at church, you gave me dollars!  Sincerely – Teyiah
