Pepsi, Our sister in Christ, and a dear friend: One year has passed and we miss you more and more. Just to know that you are in the mansion that we all are aiming for, resting in God’s arms! – Love Always, DC & Idonia Wilson. Pepsi’s presence in church every Sunday was always an encouragement to all. We knew that she wasn’t feeling well, but she always made an effort to be in church regardless of how she felt physically and we will always remember that about her. – John & Gladys Kurpiel. Pepsi was a breath of fresh air every time I talked to her. My wife truly grew on to her in a very short period of time. I was very pleased one summer day (July 27, 2006) when I received a call from her stating, “I want to be baptized.” She was so adamant about it. On that following Wednesday evening, she obeyed the Lord’s word and was baptized. She looked at life for what it was and made the right decision at the right time. My wife and I extend our heart to Pepsi’s family and are in continued prayer that you rejoice for Pepsi is in a better place. – Jonathon & Georgia Charley.
Pepsi is a very religious, humble and loved the work of the Lord. We, the Lawrence Church of Christ, loved her every minute. Hope in peace, with the Lord. – The Tuffours. Pepsi had strong faith in God. She continued to thank Him, whether she was sick or healthy. She always said, when asked how she was, “I’m fine.” We always loved to talk about what clothes she bought and where the good sales were. – Karen Belanger. There was something about Pepsi! The first time I laid eyes on her, was in church on Sunday morning. She was the daughter of Ralph Murphy, my brother in Christ, whom I had grown to love and respect. She was visiting from “down south.” What I noticed first was her smile. If ever there was a girl without a trouble in the world – it was Pepsi! I, on the other hand, had had a tragic ten years; three bouts with cancer, months of radiation, and several surgeries. I had been through it all! I was kinda thinking that I was “The Bomb.” A strong woman, who had insurmountable odds, with the ability to survive and shine on through - I was immediately drawn to Pepsi, and she, to me. It didn’t take long to realize that I was in the presence of “Wonder Woman.” Not that she saw herself that way; she saw herself as “business as usual.” Pepsi was dying. In the six or so months that I shared with her, she brought me to my knees! Her strength, her beauty, her optimism, her humor and her faith – were rivaled only by Job. If that sounds a little strong, that’s because she was! Pepsi was baptized about three months before she died. I remember that night. There was such a thunder and lightening storm. I was cowering in the church pew. I remember thinking, “Boy, the devil really wants her soul, badly!” Pepsi lives on in so many of us. She was such an inspiration to me. She was, and is, the bravest chick in town. I’m sure once she was baptized the devil came down on her like bricks. On our way to service this morning, I asked Ray, “What do you think Pepsi is doing right now?” Ray’s answer was the best answer. “She’s in the bosom of Abraham – smiling, like crazy!” We love you, Pepsi! God Bless, Ray and Rose Bisson. |
