The Front Yard Statement

I remember a moment that I had with my Auntie Pepsi that I still talk about today.  When I was living with my aunt in Gadsden, Alabama, I went to the corner store which is about a mile and a half away from the house and my aunt wanted me to pick up some milk and soda for her.

I was walking back from the store and I was about 3 blocks from the house and I noticed a car was approaching very fast and crazy. The car was spinning and it's tail end came about 2 feet from hitting me and so I dropped the milk and soda on the ground  and the soda had burst open and got all over my clothes.

I went back to the house and my aunt asked me what happened. I was afraid to tell her at first but I knew It wasn't my fault this time. So I told her that I was 3 blocks away from here and this car had fish tailed the corner and it almost hit me.

So she ran out the door as fast as I've ever seen my aunt run and she's cussing and swearing outside in the front yard and all I could do was smile because the car is long gone and she's out there trying to make a statement. This is a moment that I tell to this day

I Love You Auntie Pepsi. Chauncey
